A century ago Walter Pater called it " a world to explore " as if one explored the entire Middle Ages.

This shows the ground plan and the application of geometry based on ad quadratum, based on the square, and ad triangulum based on the equilateral triangle.

HRH Princess Diana

I am a devotee of Diana the Princess of the People, but I do not have much regard for the other members of the Royal Family or for the Monarchy in Britain in the 21st Century. It is out dated and needs to be modernised along with the other institutions of the State such as the Upper Chamber of Parliament.

I believe that Princess Diana was badly treated by the Palace, and I am far from sure that we yet know how, why and who was responsible for her untimely death.

My window at Canterbury

My window inside 47 North Lane, Canterbury, Kent. Showing the Kent Horse and the Canterbury Cross. The window was within an internal wall which I had built near the front door to create a lobby before entering the living room. Installed in 1984.

My Bathroom Window

This is one of my leaded panels, I call it " My Flowers " and it is installed in an internal wall between my bathroom and the en-suite in the bedroom.

Josephine Baker

Josephine Baker was born in St Louis, Missouri and was a fantastic lady. Overcoming the limitations imposed by her colour in the United States during the 1930's, she became one of the world's most versatile entertainers on stage, screen and as a recording artist. Josephine spent a lot of time in France and was decorated for her undercover work for the French Resistance during World War II. She was a great civil rights activist, and she refused to perform for segrated audiences. She adopted twelve children from around the world whom she called her "Rainbow Tribe" After a large party held in her honour in 1975 she died in her sleep. ends........

One of Diana's Foxes

Many of these foxes had " sarcoptic mange " and Diana contacted the National Fox Welfare Society and obtained some medicine which was administered via bread and honey. She also fed them with chicken bones and other tit bits. Last summer ( 2005 ) a few foxes were treated succesfully. I think she is looking forward to seeing them again this summer.

This is the only remaining of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. It was built circa 3,400 BC in the 4th Egyption Dynasty, although some researchers believe that it was much earlier (circa 10,500 BC)

Roy Lichenstein - 1963

This painting " I know how you must feel... " is one of my favourites, and some people find this curious, so here's why. She epitomises the 1960's sort of girl next door, Hollywood, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe etc. and the year 1963 was a significant year in that I passed my final examinations and Clare was born, all in one week. I am not very keen on the minimalist type of modern art, or the comic style, but I find this image very touching, a little bit sad maybe but also understanding and poignant.
